The CJI said that this matter is going to affect a large number of students. Therefore, we do not consider the re-examination to be justified.
Chief Justice of India (CJI) DY Chandrachud said that our conclusion is that the paper leak happened in Hazaribagh and reached Patna, this is undisputed. While reading the order, he said that the CBI has said that so far 155 students from Hazaribagh and Patna have been found to be beneficiaries.
The sanctity of the exam was not affected at all- CJI
CJI said that the investigation is still incomplete. We had also sought answers from the Centre as to where the irregularities were in the 4750 centres. However, IIT Madras also reviewed the matter. Based on the material available so far, it cannot be concluded that the sanctity of the examination has been completely affected.
Re-examination will affect more than 20 lakh students: DY Chandrachud
The Supreme Court said that we also compared this year’s results with the data of the last 3 years. Even this did not indicate that there was widespread irregularity. They said that we want that no student who adopts unfair means should be able to take advantage or get admission in future. They said that we believe that the re-examination will affect more than 20 lakh students. The academic session will be disrupted, studies will be delayed. Therefore, we do not consider the re-examination to be justified.
